How to measure
- Length: side to side, along the door.
- Width: front to back, from the threshold outward.
- Under the door: open it over the spot and measure the gap beneath. The mat must be thinner than that gap.
For a recessed well
- Length: measure the opening side to side at the back, the middle and the front. Use the smallest.
- Width: measure front to back at the left, the middle and the right. Use the smallest.
- Depth: lay a straightedge across the well and measure down to its floor, and choose the thickness that matches it.
- Enter each smallest measurement less ¼″, so the mat drops in.

Every custom-cut mat is coir pile on a vinyl backing, cut from a 6 ft wide roll. One piece runs up to 33 ft long and 6 ft wide.

How exact is the cut?
Mats are cut by hand to the size you order, in half-inch steps. For a recessed well, measure the opening and enter it less ¼″ each way so the mat drops in; How to measure, above, shows where to measure.
Is it the same as the woven-backed mats?
No. Custom-cut coir has a vinyl backing and is ½″ to 1¼″ thick. Woven-backed mats are 1″ or 2″ thick with a coir-yarn back, and come in ready sizes only.
Can I return a custom cut?
Yes, within 30 days, with a 15% restocking fee, because each one is cut for you. Damaged or wrong items are refunded at our cost.
What if my size is bigger than one piece?
Sizes wider than 6 ft or longer than 33 ft take more than one piece. Send the sizes to the Commercial desk and we quote the layout within one business day.
