Why coir, and why here

A brush you wipe your feet on.

  • It scrapes.

Coir is the stiff fiber of the coconut husk. The pile works like a brush: grit comes off the sole and drops into the mat.

  • It dries.

The fiber takes up water and lets it go again. Kept under cover, a coir mat dries out between uses.

  • Every kind is here.

Woven-backed, vinyl-backed, weaved, inlaid, printed and by the roll, in ready sizes or cut to fit.

  • Plain answers.

The Coir Guide covers sizing, thickness and care, including when coir is the wrong choice.

Where it does not work. New coir sheds loose fiber for a few weeks. Left in standing water or full weather it darkens and wears sooner. If your step is uncovered, the Coir Guide says what to use instead.
